REMINDER TO RESIDENTS: Always ask to see the ORIGINAL Transient Business License/Permit, and the ORIGINAL photo ID. A photocopy of either of these items is NOT VALID. A valid Transient Business License/Permit is in color, has an original authorized signature, and has the raised township SEAL. Also remember that a Transient Business License/Permit is NOT to be considered as any type of character reference, or to establish credit, nor as a recommendation of/for the merchandise or services handled/sold or solicited by the permit holder. Please report any suspicious activity to the Jefferson Township Police Department.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR OBTAINING A TRANSIENT BUSINESS LICENSE/PERMIT: To apply for a Transient Business License/Permit, please contact the Township Secretary to obtain an Application. A non-refundable fee of $30.00 and a current criminal records background check must be submitted with the Application. Upon review and approval of the Application, a Transient Business License/Permit will be issued. Once the Transient Business License/Permit is issued, the original, along with proper photo identification, must be exhibited while engaged in transient retail business in Jefferson Township, and must be presented to all residents, police, municipal officials, and members of the general public, upon request. A Transient Business License/Permit is valid for 30 days and cannot be transferred or extended. Each new period of solicitation requires that a new Application be submitted and approved. Please contact the Township Secretary for additional information concerning the rules and regulations concerning a Transient Business License/Permit.
